FAQ

The questions practices ask before they say yes.

Straight answers, including the ones where the honest answer is “not yet.” If yours isn’t here, email hello@revado.ai and a human replies.

How the AI works

How the AI works.

What is Revado Comms, in one paragraph?

Revado Comms is the AI-native patient communications layer for dental and medical practices. Voice and text land in one shared inbox, AI agents answer calls and messages 24/7 in English and Spanish, appointments write straight into your PMS, and Campaigns work your recall and reactivation lists automatically.

Does the AI actually book appointments, or just take messages?

It books. Revado syncs two-way with your practice management system, so the agent sees real availability, writes real appointments, and sends the patient a confirmation text — no callback list.

What happens when a call is outside the AI’s script?

It doesn’t improvise. The agent takes a structured message, flags the thread for your team, and escalates by the rules you set — clinical questions, complaints, and emergencies route to humans every time.

Do patients know they’re talking to an AI?

Yes — the agent identifies itself honestly. What patients consistently care about is that the phone was answered and the thing they called about got done.

Can we review what the AI said?

Every conversation, voice and text, is a thread in the shared inbox with timestamps. On supported systems, a summary also writes back to the patient’s chart. Nothing the agent does is invisible.

What can’t the AI do?

It won’t answer clinical questions, quote prices you haven’t approved, or go off-script. Anything outside its rules gets a graceful handoff to your team. We think the boundaries are the product.

Getting started

Getting started.

What does onboarding look like?

Connect your PMS, set your hours, scripts, and escalation rules with us, then forward the lines you want covered — overflow, after-hours, or everything. Most single-location practices are live within days.

Do we need new phone numbers or hardware?

No. Revado sits behind your existing number with forwarding rules, and your existing landline gets text-enabled. There’s nothing to install at the front desk.

Can we start small before turning everything on?

That’s the recommended path: most practices start with after-hours or overflow answering, watch the inbox for a couple of weeks, then expand to reminders, recall Campaigns, and more.

What does the demo actually show?

A 20-minute working session, not a slide deck. We connect a sandbox or your real system, you hear how the agent sounds on your call types, and you see what lands in the inbox and the PMS.

Integrations & your PMS

Integrations & your PMS.

Which practice management systems does Revado work with?

16 PMS and EMR systems are live today, including Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, CareStack, Denticon, Cloud9, Dolphin, Athena, eClinicalWorks, and ModMed. The integrations page shows the full matrix and what each system supports.

What does “two-way sync” actually mean?

Revado reads your schedule, patients, and providers live — and writes back: appointments, patient records, conversation notes, and on the four full-tier systems, payments to the ledger. Your PMS stays the single source of truth.

Our PMS isn’t on the list. Now what?

Tell us — we add integrations on a roughly 4-week clip and we’ll either ship yours before your pilot starts or tell you exactly when. Email hello@revado.ai.

We’re switching PMS soon. Should we wait?

No — that’s a reason to start. Because Revado spans 16 systems, your phone coverage, inbox history, and campaigns carry across the migration. Switch systems, keep your inbox.

Languages

Languages.

How good is the Spanish, really?

Native conversational — full back-and-forth scheduling conversations, not translated templates. The agent follows the caller’s language and can switch mid-conversation if the patient does.

How does Revado decide which language to use with a patient?

From the language preference on the chart, and from behavior: a patient who replies in Spanish is remembered and gets Spanish on every future touch. For minors, outreach follows the guardian’s language.

Do you support languages beyond English and Spanish?

Not yet — English and Spanish are what we ship and stand behind. If your community needs another language, tell us; real demand directly shapes the roadmap.

Pricing & terms

Pricing & terms.

How is Revado priced?

Per practice, quoted after a short scoping call — the price depends on locations and which jobs you turn on, not on seats. We’ll walk your numbers against what missed calls currently cost you.

Is there a long-term contract?

Pilots are designed to be low-risk to start and easy to judge. We put the exact terms — length, cancellation, everything — in writing before you sign anything, so there are no surprises to discover later.

Does it replace our answering service, texting tool, and reminder software?

That’s the usual outcome. Practices typically consolidate an answering service, a texting app, and a reminder tool into one system — which is also where much of the budget comes from.

How do we measure whether it’s working?

The inbox and Campaign reports show it directly: calls answered that would have missed, appointments booked after hours, recall conversions, backfilled cancellations. You judge the pilot on your own schedule data, not our marketing.

Security & compliance

Security & compliance.

Is Revado HIPAA compliant?

Revado is built HIPAA-first: we operate as a business associate, sign a BAA before any pilot, encrypt patient data in transit and at rest, and log every PHI access. The security page has the full posture.

Will you sign a BAA before we connect anything?

Yes — before, always. Email trust@revado.ai and the BAA arrives the same day.

Where can our security reviewer get details?

The security page covers HIPAA posture, subprocessors, SOC 2 status, audit logs, and incident response — and trust@revado.ai answers questionnaires directly from the engineering team.

Who owns the patient data?

Your practice does. Your PMS remains the system of record, campaigns only reach your own patients, and on termination PHI is returned or deleted per the BAA.

The fastest answer is hearing it run.

20 minutes, your PMS or a sandbox, your call types. Most of the questions on this page answer themselves once you hear the agent take a real call.
